The All-New 100% Electric Mazda MX-30

It’s no secret that Mazda is not the richest manufacturer on the planet. So, when it comes to spending huge amounts of money on development, the automaker is smart about managing its budgets. It has always been that way. A decade or 15 years ago, the time was not right for Mazda to commit to electric vehicles.

Instead, the company pursued innovation, and the revolutionary SkyActiv design approach to chassis, engines and transmissions was born, and the results were breathtaking.

Now that the 2020s are well underway and shaping up to be the decade of the big electric shift, Mazda is on board and well poised to move forward. Not surprisingly, the car maker unveiled its first ever all-electric vehicle to the world, the 2022 Mazda MX-30. Without a doubt, this vehicle will be a huge success when it hits the market.

The New 100% Electric Mazda MX-30

In the meantime, from the L’Ami Junior group, Baie-Comeau Mazda on the Côte-Nord near Pointe-Lebel and Chute-aux-Outardes invites you to discover the new all-electric Mazda MX-30, an upcoming Mazda model with a bright future ahead. At your dealership and garage in Baie-Comeau, you can build your vehicle according to your needs using the Mazda configurator. We offer you a complete range of new Mazda vehicles, but also a huge variety of pre-owned vehicles for sale in Baie-Comeau; the choice is yours!

What we do know about the future MX-30 SUV is that Mazda will deliver in all-electric format, and in a plug-in hybrid configuration as well. In terms of design, the model features an edgy, original style with a sloping roofline and articulated rear doors. Under the hood, you can expect a 35.5 kWh lithium-ion battery and a 144-horsepower electric motor.

The model is similar to the current CX-3 and CX-30. Variant models have yet to be unveiled, but we can anticipate a copy paste of this incredible current lineup, with a top-of-the-line Signature variant right at the very tip of the hierarchy.

PLUG-IN HYBRID MODELS

Besides the all-electric version with a 144-horsepower engine, a plug-in hybrid variant of the car is also available. What’s exciting about the plug-in hybrid is that it continues to build on the brand’s glorious legacy. This is because the electric motor that powers it, is combined with a rotary engine (gasoline).

RECHARGING AND DRIVING RANGE

For now, the MX-30 model is reported to be equipped with a 35.5 kWh battery pack, which should translate into a range of between 200 and 250 kilometres. While the initial announcement is for a model that will be available in all markets, a second variant with a more powerful battery pack may be available for greater driving freedom. There are still many details yet to come out about this MX-30. It will be possible to recharge the battery on standard AC power, as well as on more modern and faster DC chargers.

AN ECO-FRIENDLY VEHICLE

On board, Mazda has pioneered a number of innovations with the use of sustainable natural materials such as cork and breathable fabric upholstery created from recycled plastic bottles. A sleek and very contemporary floating centre console makes room for storage space behind a digital display for climate control. A sub-screen juts out from the dashboard to provide multimedia functions such as its audio system, navigation and rear-view camera. It will assuredly house Mazda’s latest system, launched with the Mazda3 in 2018. Connectivity with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto is also expected as standard.

A CAR THAT IS SURE TO SELL LIKE HOT CAKES!

In the coming weeks and months, it’s certain that we’ll learn more about this incredible vehicle about to make its grand debut at Mazda. We already know that the quality we’ve come to expect from the company and the driving pleasure that is the hallmark of every Mazda product will be preserved.

We will now be able to enjoy our vehicles without using a drop of gas. We will get back to you as soon as the MX-30 arrives.
