First named Toyo Cork Kogyo, the company changed its name to Mazda around 1934. The name was inspired by both its founder and the god of light and harmony. Although the company was first involved in the manufacture of insulation for refrigerators, it was its first vehicle, the R360, that propelled it into the 1960s.

During the decade, the company entered the North American market and already ranked among the top ten automakers of the time. Since then, the company has continued to innovate, always focusing on the driving experience and on building cutting-edge vehicles, especially in terms of technology.

The 100th anniversary version of the CX-5, among others, features a Snow-White Pearl exterior colour that recalls the colour of the first Mazda model, the R360. It's a nod to the 1960s in a resolutely modern vehicle; several emblems recall the anniversary event. Namely, the logo can be found on the bodywork, embossed on the headrest, on the floor mat, on the remote control and on the hub cap.

The interior is also remarkably elegant, with luxurious nappa leather upholstery in garnet-red with matching carpet and floor mats. The armrests and centre console are pure white, with light gray stitching on the console, providing a harmonious contrast.

This 100th anniversary edition CX-5 SUV is equipped with the powerful Skyactiv-G 2.5L turbocharged 4-cylinder engine, producing 250 horsepower and 320 lb-ft of torque. All-wheel drive is also available for this model, perfectly designed for both the city and getaways, thanks to the off-road traction control system.

Inside, a very comfortable experience awaits, starting with leather upholstery with heated front and rear seats. The front seats are also ventilated, and the driver enjoys a 10-way power adjustment seat with lumbar support and two memory positions.

Even more immersive, the car includes a Bose premium audio system with ten speakers for surround sound. Add in noise cancellation technology, and you've got an experience that will appeal to the ficklest of audiophiles.

Mazda also makes it easy for you to integrate the navigation system, as well as wireless integration of the Apple CarPlay app from your phone. The full-colour active driving display is even projected onto the windshield so you can focus on the road throughout your drive.

In addition to the full suite of safety-assist technologies, this version includes a screen that gives you a peripheral view of the vehicle. A traffic sign recognition system, intelligent rear brake assist, and a 360-degree camera are among the added technologies.

All in all, the new 100th anniversary version of the Mazda CX-5 is a nod to history with a set of features that are firmly rooted in modernity. For more details on the 100th anniversary versions or on the CX-5, consult your Mazda dealer in Baie-Comeau; always there to help!
